How we compare

Building OS is usually evaluated against indoor mapping platforms.

These pages set out the differences honestly, including the cases where the other product is the one to buy.

Every claim carries its public source and the date it was checked

They sell a map. We sell the building's model.

Indoor mapping platforms store geometry with labels on it. Building OS stores a semantic graph — site, building, storey, space, element — so a room is one object that a work order, a lease and a route all point at, rather than a polygon that three systems each keep their own copy of.

The map is one module of many

Wayfinding is one of the 32 modules of Building OS. The same floor plan carries maintenance, leasing, equipment, energy and sensor data. If you only need the map, that breadth is weight you are not using — and we will say so.

It can run inside your perimeter

On-premise is the same software rather than a reduced edition. Most of this market is cloud-only, and for a lot of buildings — regulated, state-owned, or simply sovereign about their data — that is the whole decision.

Compared one capability at a time.

Presence of a capability, never a score. Where we could not verify something from public material, the page says so rather than guessing.

  • Yes
  • Partly, or in a qualified form
  • No
  • ? Not stated publicly — a fact about their marketing, not a “no”
  • Not compared on that vendor’s page

More are coming. We publish a comparison only once we have read the other product’s own documentation properly — a page written from guesswork would be unfair to them and useless to you.

Still deciding

Bring the building. We will tell you if it is not us.

A working session on your own floor plans and asset register — not a slide deck.
